So, what is a Green Smoothie and why in the world would someone want to drink them all day long for 40 days in a row? That’s an excellent question.
The term “Green Smoothie” is a great word that evokes a picture that most people are familiar with … well, except for the green part. So, imagine a smoothie, a blended drink made from all kinds of liquids and fruits. Now imagine it green. Essentially, it is a blended liquid mixture of mostly green vegetables, usually accompanied with some fruit to sweeten up the taste of the green vegetables. The fruit is usually needed in the beginning to get one’s palette used to the flavor of the green vegetables. Green smoothies are power packed with nutrition and health. They provide a massive infusion of alkalinity to the body, which provides the building blocks your cells need to create a healthy body. In a green smoothie, you can literally consume more green food in one burst than you could possibly consume by chewing one salad. Because it is blended, the food is pre-digested and therefore is like a shot of health direct to the cells. Your body does not need to waste time digesting the food.
Are you new to this concept? Would you like to try a Green Smoothie?
I’d recommend you start slow. Make a commitment to add a smoothie in your diet say 2 times a week, for example. Make it something you can stick with as the more you do them, the more you will want them. Also start slow with how you make them. I can do 100% greens in a smoothie with no fruit because my palette and system are used to them. Most people start off with a ratio of greens and fruit. Start off 50/50. Buy some bananas, peel them, cut in 3 and freeze. Maybe also freeze some strawberries, blueberries, whatever kind of fruits you like, etc. Just make sure to cut and clean them first. Then just make a smoothie with water or almond milk, some fruit and some kind of leafy greens. I’d suggest spinach to start, as it has the mildest taste.
So, try this combo to start: almond milk or water, 1 banana and some blueberry, and a handful of spinach. This will make a cold, delicious smoothie.
Also, I highly recommend you buy “Green for Life”. Click here to go to Victoria Boutenko’s Raw Family site where you can purchase the book. Her book explains why one should consume green smoothies, their purpose and function, how they will improve your diet and life and she has awesome recipes.
So, try a Green Smoothie today. Give yourself a Power House shot of Health. You’ll be glad you did.
